Introduction

Leanstep was developed by the BusinessNZ to help New Zealand small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to:

• understand their productivity performance
• benefit from improvements in lean manufacturing techniques
• access tools and providers that can help with implementing lean practice

It has been designed as a basic;guide to help businesses find out more about their existing performance on lean metrics, and plan how they can improve. It has the following modules:

Registration:

The user enters basic details about themselves and their business, which are used to ensure user security, and to better target the questions asked.

Assessment:

The user answers a series of basic questions about their lean statuse in different categories. Each possible answer has a weighting, which is used to generate a business performance profile.

Reporting:

The tool generates a Lean Report, summarising the users performance profile and listing recommendations for improvement
